What is Dholera SIR? Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a planned Greenfield Smart Industrial City located about 90 km from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is a key part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. The city is being developed under the Special Investment Region Act, 2009, with the Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) managing its planning and development. For implementation, a joint company called Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) was formed by the Central and State Governments. Covering around 920 sq. km and 22 villages, Dholera is planned to be larger than Ahmedabad. Its location is strategic, as it lies between major cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar. Dholera will have a self-sustaining ecosystem with industries, housing, commercial spaces,
schools, hospitals, and public facilities. The government is building world-class infrastructure, including expressways, metro, airport, power, and water supply. The city will also feature eco-friendly transport systems and modern connectivity. Overall, Dholera SIR is designed to become a smart, sustainable, and high-growth city of the future.

Airport Connectivity Dholera International Airport
Dholera International Airport is being developed near Navagam village, around 80 km from Ahmedabad. It will serve as a world-class passenger and cargo hub, supporting both business and tourism.
The airport is planned to decongest Ahmedabad International Airport and handle future air traffic growth. Spread across 1,426 hectares, it will be equipped with two parallel runways and modern terminals.
